International Earthquake Conference- Los Angeles, CA
11-12-2008 Los Angeles, CA In partnership with the City of Los Angeles, the Earthquakes and Megacities Initiative (EMI) will co-organize an International Earthquake Conference on November 12-14, 2008.
The three-day conference will bring to light the various disaster risk reduction initiatives undertaken by Los Angeles and other major cities from around the globe. This will be an opportunity for other cities to learn directly from their peers how to establish sound practices in the areas of policy, planning, and preparedness and to network with many of the most experienced disaster management professionals in the world.
VENUE
The Conference will be held at The Omni Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles atop Bunker Hill where rooms have been secured at a reduced conference rate. The conference registration fee includes all meals for the duration of the conference starting with continental breakfast on November 12th through a closing luncheon on November 14th. Transportation will be provided to all offsite activities.
REGISTRATION
To register for the Conference, visit www.iec.lacity.org. Activities will be first-come first-serve basis, so register early in order to reserve the activities and sessions that interest you most.
Conference Registration: $549 USD
Early Registration (by August 1, 2008): $499 USD
Registration fees include admission to all conference plenary & breakout sessions, eight meals, & transportation to "ShakeOut" activities on November 13.
Special Hotel Discount: In addition to the special conference rate offered by the Omni Hotel, anyone who books two (2) nights during the conference will receive a rebate upon departure of
$100 USD, if you book by September 1, 2008.
