Arup’s New York office is currently seeking an experienced Project Controls Engineer to supplement our current Commercial Management and Project Controls Team. This position is located in our New York SoHo office but the successful candidate will be involved in prestigious projects spanning the Americas.
Project Controls Engineer
Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
- Develop, refine and manage project control policies and procedures for large projects
- Assist Project Managers in implementation of project control processes
- Develop and update cost and schedule reports to track progress
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets for projects, and conduct variance analysis for complex, multi-disciplined projects
- Provide project cost control including managing scope changes, actual costs, earned value and forecasts
- Prepare expenditure profile, staffing plans/work force histograms and design cost estimates
- Preparation of financial component of bids
- Cash Flow Forecasting and monitoring
- Change Control and Configuration Management
- Contract Administration; Sub contractor management
Requirements-
Have relevant project control experience. Experience in a large infrastructure project environment is preferred.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related discipline plus 4-6 years of professional commercial/cost/scheduling experience
- Have a proven track record for financial management of multiple projects consisting of diverse team members to successful completion
- Have solid analytical and reasoning skills and proven ability to develop solutions to complex problems
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation and report writing. Strong interpersonal, communication and time management skills. Self-starter, a team player and able to perform independently.
- Have a good working knowledge of Earned Value Management System processes and requirements
- Have an advanced knowledge of Excel
- Be proficient in Primavera software scheduling theory, techniques and methodologies

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in managing institutional projects in excess of $15 million in capital value will be considered an asset.
